There is a large variety of puppetry forms, from shadow puppets to hand puppets, to mouth and rod puppets. Even sock puppets were used recently in television commercials. With video cameras being available at very reasonable prices, any youngster can become a video producer. Mr. Zapletal will demonstrate different kinds of puppets and show how they can be applied in programs that young film and video makers can make. In an entertaining way he will discuss advantages of each puppetry form and workshop is recommended for all ages from age six and older for those interesting in television/film production. Mr. Zapletal will talk and show clips from productions produced there between 1971 and 2003. He will describe and discuss the production process using puppets in television.

Peter Zapletal, former puppetry producer, animator and executive producer for many award-winning programs produced by Mississippi ETV and Mississippi Public Broadcasting, has had a career that has garnered five Emmy Awards for Ticktock Minutes in addition to almost fifty other awards from national competitions.
