“This is going to be the best day of your life!” Donald (Barry Primus) promises Sam (Charlie Robinson). They are two homeless men living in Los Angeles’ Skid Row. The source of Donald’s optimism is a skillfully bummed $20 bill (a Jackson). And with it, Donald, a modern-day Don Quixote, promises they can go anywhere and do anything. Spanning a single day that turns into a cold, rainy night, one of the most unusual aspects of the film includes other down-and-out characters singing famous opera arias. From an old drunk singing a Donizetti duet with a crack addict to a bag-lady singing Carmen, what begins as a tale of friendship becomes a story about the beauty and resilience of the human spirit. Also starring Steve Guttenberg, Richard Brown, Shawnette Sulker, Ella Lee Romani.
Best Feature – SoCal, Treasure Coast, South Africa Film Festivals; Audience Award – Lakedance Film Festival.
